A seasoned veteran, P.F has followed the NFL closely for decades. Hailing from New York State, his handicapping philosophy revolves largely around coaches. Certain coaches create environments and locker rooms conducive to winning. Other coaches have more trouble and at times can lose a team.
"The NFL is about pain and suffering; in short, guys that put out maximum effort can usually beat guys that don't"
All players in the NFL are great athletes or they wouldn't be there. Three main ingredients are needed to win consistently in the NFL:
1. A solid defense (especially against the run)
2. An adequate running game
3. Effort (a coach who can get the guys to play at a high level) i.e. Parcells, Shanahan, L. Smith, Bellechik, M. Lewis to name a few.

A real test for Minny and their new head coach. The Pats might be peeking ahead to the Colts next week. I think they are vulnerable here.
This is a different Vikes team which is why I gave them last week. Minnesota , with their improved defence keeps this one close. It looks like a defensive game to me probably low scoring. Take the Vikes at home plus the three.

This NFC tilt should go to the home team for two key reasons.
1. The Colts cannot run the ball, allowing the leagues top rated defense to concentrate on stopping the passing game. 2. Denver paid a fortune for Champ Bailey and it was for a game like this. Couple this with the fact that The Broncos are near impossible to beat at Mile High and you have a TOP PICK.
Take Denver minus the points.

Giants are officially banged up after the Monday night bruiser against Dallas. The BUCS always play tough and are gaining confidence. This should be a tight game, maybe a bunch of field goals. The Bucs will put pressure on Ely and can stop the run. The Giants will be looking ahead to the Bears next week, as well. Take the Bucs plus the generous spread here.
