PA SPORTSTICKER AL PREVIEW
      (SEATTLE-TEXAS)

*Rangers look to start new streak in opener vs. Mariners*
---------------------------------------------------------

Seattle (15-24) at Texas (18-21) 8:05 pm EDT

ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) - Vicente Padilla hopes to get the
Texas Rangers back on track when they open a three-game series
against the Seattle Mariners on Monday.

Padilla (5-2, 3.02 ERA) is seeking his fourth straight win,
including 2-0 victory over Seattle on Wednesday when he tossed
seven shutout innings.

The righthander owns a 3-5 record with a 4.94 ERA over 11 career
appearances - nine starts - against the Mariners.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia drove in two runs and Ian Kinsler had
three hits and an RBI but it wasn't enough as Texas had its
five-game winning streak snapped in Sunday's 12-6 loss to the
Oakland A's.

Seattle will counter with ace Erik Bedard (2-2, 1.99), who takes
the hill looking for his first victory after dropping his
previous two starts.

Raul Ibanez hit a two-run home run in the third inning as the
Mariners avoided a three-game sweep with a 6-3 victory over the
Chicago White Sox on Sunday.
